The Samsung Galaxy Tab series has received an enormous amount of praise. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is available in 10" , 8" and 7" variants, with plenty of tablet cases and other accessories available for each model. But some consumers are still in the dark amount what makes them an attractive pick, especially compared to tablets by other manufacturers.

One of the tablets that the Samsung Galaxy Tab was competing against when it launched was the Iconia tablet. This Acer tablet received rave reviews and sold a number of units. It pales in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy, though, for a few reasons. First, the Acer tablet is noticeably thicker than the Galaxy Tab. The Iconia tablet also has a less attractive screen. Because the Samsung Galaxy Tab series has a thin, sleek design and Super AMOLED screen, it's a much more attractive option from a design and hardware perspective.

Another attractive feature of the Galaxy Tab is the software it runs. The Galaxy Tab runs Android 3.0, which is specifically designed for tablets. Other comparable tablets still run Android 2.3, which is a phone operating system that manufacturers force onto tablets. One example of this is the HTC Flyer. Despite having great hardware, the HTC tablet is restricted by the fact that it doesn't run Android 3.0.

Between its attractive hardware, optimized software, and accessories such as tablet cases and keyboards, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is a great device. Anyone looking to purchase a tablet should strongly consider it. For most users, it's going to be the best tablet available.
